Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization founded on January 13, 1913, by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University. Delta’s purpose is to provide assistance and support, through established programs in local communities throughout the world. A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominantly African-American, college-educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located in the United States, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, Bermuda, the Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Seoul, Korea. The theme for this biennium is “A Sisterhood Called to Serve: Transforming Lives, Impacting Communities.” This is a tribute to the mission and vision of our Founders by contributing countless hours of public service implemented through our Five Point Programmatic Thrust:
